Adam De Clare was a distrustful, moody prince. Often, he simply just didn't care. The only person he really trusted was his older brother, Andres, and anybody else was simply just viewed with suspicion. He was used to be looked down upon, to being seen as a spoiled brat.

Maybe that was why he didn't expect much when his birthday rolled around. Sure, he knew Andres would get something, but that was all. Most people's presents were impersonal, showing that they didn't really know him that well. Most of the time, his brother got him a book.... typically romance(shameful and girly!) or a monster manual. Well, this year his brother got him a pet monster. A little slime to take care of.
