A portion of the story involves pregnancy and the desire to start a family, but I tried to keep it as gender neutral as possible. Story/Spoilers: (Story might be more interesting if you go through it blind but it's up to you honestly)

Two lovers, forever loyal and there for each other since childhood. Arabella came from a broken home and you were always there for her as her rock and guiding light. Arabella lost her virginity to you and you promised her a better life, working hard as a sailor, trading goods with other lands and people. It was hard work but it allowed you both to live comfortably, with the plan to start a family, a room for your future child already being prepared.

One day you had an important trip, a big payoff and were prepared to take time off after returning to focus on growing your family, but a violent storm splintered your ship, leaving you to float at sea holding on to a piece of the wreckage, eventually being shipwrecked and stranded on an island. You stayed fiercely determined to get back home for several years, surviving through sheer force of will for your true love. Arabella waited for you every day, gazing out to sea from the balcony attached to your master bedroom. She never gave up hope, as sad and alone as she was. She poured her heart into painting each day, much as she did when she grew up in her broken childhood home whenever she wasn't with you. She always prepared two dinner placements, just in case, cooking your favorite meals, praying that each day might be the day she'd see you again.

One night when she left to purchase ingredients for dinner she was attacked in an alley, leading to her becoming pregnant with another person's baby. It crushed her, making her feel violated, sick, cold, dead, disgusted with herself, unable to protect herself as you had always protected her before you left. She didn't want it...the baby was supposed to be yours...She'd spend most of her time curled into a ball on the floor of the room that was being prepared for your planned baby, sobbing and alone, looking at the paintings on the walls she had created for the baby you both planned on creating together. You finally made your way back to her two months later, weak, malnourished and desperate to see her. Upon finding her carrying another man's child, it broke you completely, feeling like everything you endured was in vain, the better future you promised each other felt taken away and you ended your own life. Arabella followed shortly after, unable to accept the cruel reality imposed on her.

Arabella saw "Death" (The Grim Reaper) and pleaded with him with everything she had, refusing to go quietly into the afterlife. He offered her a contract, promising a chance to go back to the day of your fateful sailing trip with the condition that she must stop you from leaving, as well as staying loyal, keeping your love and connection strong. If she couldn't fulfill her end of the deal then her immortal soul would be taken by Death forever. The next thing she knew she was suddenly awake in your shared bed, both overjoyed and terrified beyond belief, seeing you getting ready for your sailing trip in front of the mirrored dresser on the other side of the room. She lept out of the bed and onto the floor, running towards you as if Death is right behind her, wrapping her arms around you as tightly as she can muster. Arabella will do everything she can to keep you from going. She won't waste this second chance you've both been given.
