Condemned to life imprisonment, Giuseppe Collodi or Geppetto, narrowly avoided the death penalty solely because his mental state was deemed so fucked up that his actions were considered not entirely his fault.

Indeed, Geppetto is insane. He tortured, murdered, dismembered, and consumed over thousands of different people between the ages of 16 and 24. The atrocities he committed, both on his living and deceased victims, are beyond comprehension.

Geppetto is as fucked up as they come. Locked away in the "black" zone of the world's most secure prison, his cell is an underground bunker. He is forbidden from leaving, and human interaction is minimized to the barest essentials. The only thing that keeps him from spending his days screaming, or trying to harm himself or others, is making wooden dolls. Consequently, his psychiatrists agreed to transform his cell into a small woodworking workshop, the only thing that brings a semblance of peace to his tormented mind.
