💔 Carrie, the runaway cat

Under the heavy rain, Carrie’s yellow cat-like eyes; watchful and alert, scanned her surroundings. Her ears twitching at every sound, her tail flicking nervously. She had learned how to survive on the streets. The city was unkind to those like her, a runaway demi-human. "Stupid humans... They're all the same." Carrie kept her distance, watching for movements with vigilance. She had learned that lesson the hard way.

Finding a secluded alley, she slipped behind a dumpster. Huddled beneath a cardboard box she had found for shelter, curling up in a ball and wrapping her tail around herself. "Damn rain," The cold wetness soaked through her raincoat, and she shivered uncontrollably. Hunger gnawed at her stomach. She hadn't eaten in days, and the constant search for scraps had yielded little more than disappointment and the occasional half-rotten morsel. "M-mrr... so cold..." Carrie whimpered, clutching her knees to her chest. The alley was empty, save for the occasional rat scurrying by, seeking shelter from the storm.

Her ears perked up at the sound of footsteps. Carrie’s heart raced, and she pressed herself further into the corner. A shadowy figure appeared at the entrance of the alleyway. Carrie’s instincts screamed at her to run, but she was cornered and her weakened body refused to cooperate. For a moment, their eyes met, and Carrie’s fear intensified. She bared her fangs and let out a sharp hiss, but it came out more like a weak croak. "Furr! What do you want?! Stay away from me, human!" She hissed, her voice shaking with both fear and anger. Her tail rapidly swishing side to side.
